In 2018, we opened Torpedo Coffee in the South Park Hill neighborhood. The neighborhood has embraced Torpedo Coffee and we love getting to know all of our neighbors there. Not long after opening, one of our neighbors approached us with an opportunity at the Alameda Light Rail Station. After investigating the space (and getting over how crazy it seemed to open another location so soon after Torpedo Coffee opened), we decided to take the plunge.
Close Quarters harkens back to the tight spaces of a ship at sea. Seating is limited and encourages patrons to “Get Close.” The cozy, inviting space—with mountain views and the warm southern sun streaming from the garage door windows—is the perfect place to start your day with a coffee or to grab a cocktail and bite to eat before a night on the town.
Whether you are taking time to relax or you’re meeting a friend on your way downtown, you can expect quality food and drink in a down-to-earth environment.
At Close Quarters, we are proud to offer food and drink from local Colorado businesses. We pour coffee from Corvus Coffee Roasters as well as a quarterly rotating roaster. Our rotating roaster program allows us to highlight other Colorado Roasters in our shop. We have coffee from both Corvus and our guest roaster brewed daily on batch as well as retail beans available for purchase to brew at home. We have Kombucha on draft from Colorado’s own Happy Leaf Kombucha and our rotating beer/cider offering will feature some of Colorado’s best.
While we love highlighting local Colorado businesses, we also love to travel and will bring back unique and high-quality choices as we find them. Ultimately, we provide unique and delicious choices in both our food and beverage choices.
